[origin: WO2020172815A1] A tool (10) provides for fast and simple setting of an expanding-type anchor (73) in a panel, particularly a plasterboard panel. The anchor (73) includes a screw fastener (16) and socket (15) with a ferromagnetic flange (22). The screw fastener (16) is held in engagement with a driver (11) by a holder (12) mounted for axial movement along the driver and carrying a magnet for engaging the flange (22). A powered handtool (61) may turn the drive (11) and include a controller (70) monitoring current drawn by the drive motor (63). In response to a current peak that occurs after setting the anchor, the motor is automatically reversed to back the screw fastener (16) out of the socket (15).
