As part of a method for releasably attaching a collar label (6) to an article of clothing (1), a releasable connection is produced between the article of clothing (1) and the collar label (6) by means of a clothing-side connection element (13) permanently connected to the article of clothing (1) and a label-side connection element (12) which is provided on the collar label (6) and interacts with the clothing-side connection element (13).
