According to the invention, the rotary latch (1) applies a closing moment on the pawl (2) when the locking mechanism (1, 2) is in the closed state, which moment transitions into an opening moment on the pawl (2) when the locking mechanism (1, 2) is opened as a result of the associated movement of the actuating lever (3) and the shifting of the axis (7) for the pawl (2).
