[origin: WO2020178389A1] The invention relates to a visual aid device (3) having a control unit and an adapter unit (30) which cooperates with the control unit and which acts on one or more control elements which are designed to influence the visibility of information content presented visually on an image surface (2) with a change of visibility parameters. A far-reaching optimisation of the visibility of presented information content is achieved in that customised visual data are stored or can be stored in the adapter unit (30), and in that the adapter unit (30) is designed, depending on the visual data, to automatically exert a customised effect on the control elements in order to change the visibility parameters by means of adjustment data, in such a way that the visibility of the presented information content is optimised in a customised manner (figure 1).
