[origin: WO2020182380A1] The invention relates to a connection terminal (100) for connecting an electrical conductor (200), comprising a housing (10), a conductor insertion opening (11), which is formed in the housing (10) and has the purpose of inserting the conductor (200) to be connected into the housing (10), a busbar (12) which is arranged in the housing (10), a clamping spring (13) which is arranged in the housing (10) and has a retaining limb (15) and a clamping limb (16), wherein the clamping limb (16) has a clamping edge (31) at a free end, by means of which clamping edge the conductor (200) to be connected can be clamped against the busbar (12), and an operating element (14) which is mounted in a displaceable manner in the housing (10) and by means of which the clamping limb (16) can be moved into a clamping position and into an open position, wherein the operating element (14) has a passage opening (18) through which at least one subsection of the busbar (12) is guided and through which the conductor (200) to be connected can be guided, wherein a conductor connection area is formed in the passage opening (18), clamping of the conductor (200) to be connected against the busbar (12) by means of the clamping limb (16) taking place in the passage opening (18) in said conductor connection area, wherein the passage opening (18) is delimited at least by a top wall (19) and by two side walls (20, 21) which are arranged perpendicularly to the top wall (19), wherein the two side walls (20, 21) laterally overlap the conductor connection area and wherein an opening (23, 24) is formed in each of the two side walls (20, 21), the clamping limb (16) being guided in said opening as it is moved into the clamping position and into the open position.
