[origin: EP3711528A1] A smoking substitute system with a smoking substitute device (201) having a cap (210) movable between two positions to selectively conceal or expose a heating element (223) of the smoking substitute device. A smoking substitute device having a body (209), a heating element extending from the body and a cap removably attached to the body. The cap is movable between a first position and a second position along a longitudinal axis of the body. In the first position the heating element is concealed in the cap and in the second position the heating element is at least partially exposed.
