The problem addressed by the invention it thus to provide a solar protection or wind protection device which is easier to use. This problem is solved according to the invention by the tension adjusting device (11) being arranged between two transverse sub-rods (66, 66a, 66b) of the transverse rod (66, 66a, 66b).
