[origin: EP3951288A1] An outdoor unit (2) is connected with an indoor unit (3) to form a refrigeration cycle apparatus (1). The outdoor unit (2) includes a compressor (10), a condenser (20), and a control device (100). The compressor (10) and the condenser (20) form a refrigerant circuit (5) through which refrigerant circulates, together with an expansion mechanism (50) and an evaporator (60) included in the indoor unit (3). The control device (100) determines whether or not the refrigerant circulating through the refrigerant circuit (5) is insufficient, and when the control device (100) determines that the refrigerant is insufficient, the control device (100) gives notice of one of liquid back operation, operation in which an evaporation temperature of the refrigerant is high, and leakage of the refrigerant from the refrigerant circuit, as a factor in determining that the refrigerant is insufficient.
