Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2020207713A1] The present invention relates to a rod-shaped smoking article (1) of the tobacco-processing industry, said smoking article comprising at least two, preferably three, longitudinally axially arranged segments (2, 3, 4, 5) which are connected to one another by a wrapping structure (40) and one segment (2) of which contains a tobacco substrate, wherein an intermediate layer (7) effectively prevents escape of tobacco-containing components from the segment (2) comprising the tobacco substrate and entry of said components into a downstream segment (3). The invention also relates to a method and a device for applying the intermediate layer (7) to a segment (2, 3) of the smoking article (1).
