Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2020239372A1] The invention relates to a method for operating a rail vehicle. A first (1) and a second (2) rail vehicle travel on a rail (4) subdivided into n blocks (40). The method comprises: A) providing a first item of information, which represents that the first rail vehicle crosses a block boundary (41) between an i-th block and an i+1-th block at a first time (t1), B) providing a second item of information, which represents that the second rail vehicle crosses a block boundary between a j-th block and a j+1-th block at a second time (t2), C) determining a third item of information, which represents whether a block between the i+1-th and the j-th block is occupied by a further rail vehicle before and/or between the two times, D) releasing a first operating state for the first rail vehicle subject to the third item of information, if the third item of information represents that no block is occupied, the first operating state being travelling at a moving spatial distance.
