Abstract (en)

The invention is directed to a method for providing a devitalized cartilaginous tissue that is suitable for bone regeneration, said method comprising differentiating cells into vital cartilage cells to obtain a vital cartilaginous tissue and mildly devitalizing the vital tissue comprising drying, preferably lyophilizing, to obtain the devitalized cartilage tissue construct. Further aspects of the invention include tissue and constructs obtained by this method and use of said tissue and constructs in bone regeneration.
