[origin: WO2020233994A1] The invention relates to an edging method for mounting an edge band (5) on at least one narrow side (2a) of a panel component (2), comprising a main body (3) having a first cover side (3a), at least part of which is coated by a first laminate layer (4a), or comprising a main body (3) having a first cover side (3a), at least part of which is coated by a first laminate layer (4a), and a second cover side (3b), at least part of which is coated by a second laminate layer (4b). The edging method comprises the following steps: - providing the panel component (2); - formatting the narrow side (2a) of the provided panel component (2a) by removing at least sections thereof down to a base plane (E1); - machining the formatted narrow side (2a) by removing part thereof down to a mounting plane (E2) to form a projection (6) of the first and/or second laminate layers (4a), at least parts of which have not been removed - applying a clear-curing glue (9), in particular white glue, to at least regions of an inner surface (6a) of the projection (6) extending between the base plane (E1) and the part of the machined narrow side (2a) which is recessed relative to the base plane (E1); - applying an adhesive (8) to at least regions of the part of the machined narrow side (2a) which is recessed relative to the base plane (E1), excluding the surfaces of the projection (6); - mounting at least sections of the edge band (5) on the narrow side (2a) by applying an edge side (5c, 5d) of the edge band (5) to at least one part of the applied adhesive (3) and applying an edge border (5a) of the edge band (5) to at least one part of the applied glue (9), said two application processes being performed simultaneously or starting at different times in any order.
