[origin: WO2020229235A1] The invention relates to a flame trap filter (14, 14a, 14b) comprising a grid structure (15, 15a), wherein the grid structure (15, 15a) determines grid openings (19) which are bordered by intersecting strip sections (17i, 17ii), and/or wherein the grid structure (15, 15a) is formed by a laid scrim. A method according to the invention for producing a grid structure (15, 15a) of a flame trap filter (14, 14a, 14b) includes the step of allowing a substance (27) to solidify on a substrate (26), in order to form at least one strip section (17i, 17ii) of the grid structure (15, 15a). Alternatively or in addition, the method comprises the step of compressing a material for the flame trap filter (14, 14a, 14b) or a semi-finished product (28) of the flame trap filter (14, 14a, 14b) at points (23), e.g. by mechanically deforming the material or the semi-finished product (28), in order to form at least one strip section (17i, 17ii) of the grid structure (15, 15a).
