Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2020254076A1] A method for operating a video monitoring system (10) for a rail vehicle (1) comprises the steps of determining a topology of a signal network (11) which is assigned to the video monitoring system (10), and identifying nodes (12, 60) which are signal-coupled to the network (11), wherein at least one video camera (15) and one video recorder (14) are nodes of the network (11). The method further comprises a step of determining a signal path for the at least one video camera (15) of the network (11) on the basis of the determined topology of the network (11), wherein the signal path represents a signal arbitration of the at least one video camera (15). The method further comprises automatically assigning the at least one video camera (15) to the at least one video recorder (14) on the basis of the determined signal path.
