[origin: GB2583948A] The application discloses a tamper evident closure 10 comprising inner 30 and outer 20 caps with a tamper evident element 40 that is damaged or marked upon opening of the closure. The inner cap is rotatably connected to a container and the caps can move relative to each other (preferably, rotationally, axially or both). The tamper evident element may be a mark, hologram, RFID, NFC or seal that is ruptured, marked or broken by a cutting implement such as a blade or knife 26. The caps may comprise a ratchet mechanism 52 to engage. The tamper evident element may be visible through the outer cap. There may also be a tamper evident frangible band or strip 50 on the outer cap which may also be connected to the inner cap. Ideally, the tamper evident element is located between the caps.
