The fastening element (4) has a first side (S1), a second side (S2) adjoining the first side (S1), and a third side (S3) opposite the first side (S1), a recess (6) open towards the first side (S1), a prestressing surface (7) starting from the second side (S2) and running along the third side (S3), and a stop surface (8) projecting from the third side (S3) and adjoining the prestressing surface (7). The holding element (5) and the fastening element (4) are designed to allow play-free fastening of the furniture leg to the furniture item when the system (3) is in a state in which the first projection bears on the recess (6) and the second projection bears on the prestressing surface (7) in a play-free manner.
