[origin: WO2020233803A1] A converter (10) converting between a first voltage (V1) and a second voltage (V2) has a first connection port (CP1) for the first voltage (V1), a second connection port (CP2) for the second voltage and a stack of cells (CE1, CE2, CE3, CE4), where each cell comprises an energy storage element (C1, C2, C3, C4). In the converting the cells are configured to sequentially move a charge between the energy storage elements from one end of the stack to another end of the stack, the sequential moving of a charge comprising a cell being configured to move the charge between itself and a neighbour cell.
