The optical element (5) has a first optical surface (7) which has no rotational symmetry with regard to an imaging axis (A) of the optical element (5). The holder (3) has at least one reference element (9), which defines a position and/or orientation of the holder (3) in a predefined coordinate system which compensates for a difference between an actual pose of the first optical surface (7) and a target pose of the first optical surface (7) in the holder (3) at least in one degree of freedom. The at least one reference element (9) defines at least one specific azimuthal position of the holder (3). The invention also relates to a method for adjusting the holder (3) of an optical element (5) held in a holder (3) and having at least a first optical surface (7), which has no rotational symmetry with regard to an imaging axis (A) of the optical element (5), to a difference between an actual pose of the first optical surface (7) and a target pose of the first optical surface (7) in the holder (3).
