[origin: WO2020251893A1] Automated catheter and automated chest tube systems and devices. In some embodiments, the automated, or smart, catheter and chest tube of the present disclosure includes a housing for containing one or more collection reservoirs for collecting fluid, a flexible tube used to drain the fluid from either the bladder, chest cavity, or other appropriate bodily region, and a measuring device to measure the amount of fluid flowing through the flexible tube and into the collection reservoir(s). In some embodiments, the smart catheter and chest tube of the present disclosure includes one or more processors, one or more transmitters, and one or more receivers to transmit and receive data regarding the volume and other characteristics of the fluid collected in the reservoirs and to receive commands for performing various functions. The alarms are triggered when certain predetermined liquid volume thresholds are exceeded or not exceeded.
