A household appliance (10) comprises a first circuit board (22) and a second circuit board (20) or a first circuit board and a mains connection unit, which are electrically connectable by a connection means comprising at least one connection line (40, 40', 54, 78). Each one of the first (22) and second (20) circuit boards or the first circuit board and the mains connection unit comprises at least one first connector (50) for an electrical connection for power and/or information transmission. The first connector (50) of the first circuit board (22) is of the same or of a different type as the first connector (50) of the second circuit board (20) or of the mains connection unit.The connection line (40, 40', 54, 78) comprises a second connector (44, 44') at a first line end and a second connector (44, 44') at a second line end. The first connector (50) of the first circuit board (22) is connectable to the second connector (44, 44') at the first line end and the first connector (50) of the second circuit board (20) or of the mains connection unit is connectable to the second connector (44, 44') at the second line end. Each pair of first (50) and second (44, 44') connectors is compatible to one another and comprises a terminal or connection point or a connecting pin or a plug or a socket. The second connector (44, 44') at the first line end and the second connector (44, 44') at the second line end are arranged in a pre-defined first distance from each other at least before performing the electrical connection between the first (22) second (20) circuit boards or between the first circuit board and the mains connection unit.Further disclosed are a connection device for electrical connection and a method for assembling a household appliance (10).
