[origin: WO2020260693A1] Disclosed is a running shoe (1) with a lateral side and a medial side. The running shoe (1) has a heel section (FB), a forefoot section (VB), a midfoot section (MB). The front end of the forefoot section (VB) forms a toe box (4) and the rear end of the heel section forms a heel counter (5). The running shoe (1) comprises a sole (3) and an upper (2), wherein the upper (2) has a textile main material. Moreover, the running shoe (1) has a group of tightening bands with at least one compressing tightening band (11, 12, 13, 14) and a group of tensioning bands with at least one compressing tensioning band (15, 16). The group of tightening bands is arranged in the heel section (FB) and in the midfoot section (MB) of the running shoe (1) and the group of tensioning bands is arranged in the forefoot section (VB). The at least one tightening band (11, 12, 13, 14) is designed in such a manner that said band exerts an inwards-directed compression force when the shoe is worn. Moreover, the at least one tightening band (11, 12, 13, 14) is arranged in such a manner that said band runs along a non-expanding line (LONE - line of non-extension) of the foot of the wearer when the shoe is worn.
