The storage battery (1) is characterized in that the storage battery (1) comprises at least one electronic module (6), the electronic module (6) being connected to at least one of the secondary cells (2) and preferably to at least one of the contact units (3). The invention further relates to a contact element (23) for establishing an electrical contact with a contact unit (3) of a storage battery (1) according to the preceding description, and a method for operating a storage battery (1) according to the preceding description.
