Eine Handpan umfasst- einen hohlen Grundkörper (1), zusammengesetzt aus einer jeweils kugelsegmentförmigen Unterschale (2) und Oberschale (3), die an ihren einander zugewandten Außenrändern (4) miteinander verbunden, vorzugsweise verklebt, sind,- einem vorzugsweise zentral auf der Oberschale (3) angeordneten Basis-Tonfeld (5),- ringförmig auf der Oberschale (3) vorzugsweise um das Basis-Tonfeld (5) herum angeordnete weitere Tonfelder (6.1 bis 6.8),- eine Resonanzöffnung (7.1) in der Unterschale (2), sowie- mindestens eine weitere Resonanzöffnung (7.2 bis 7.4) in der Unterschale (2), wobei die mindestens zwei Resonanzöffnungen (7.1 bis 7.4) dezentral in der seitlichen, ansteigenden Zone (8) der Unterschale (2) angeordnet sind.
