[origin: WO2021043535A1] The invention relates to a counting system for a rail vehicle (200), comprising: - an induction loop (101), - a counting device (102), - a control device (103), wherein - the induction loop (101) and the counting device (102) are coupled in each case in terms of signalling to the control device (103), and the control device (103) is configured to determine the number of at least one predefined object (104) that crosses over the induction loop (101) as a function of a first signal of the induction loop (101) and a second signal of the counting device (102). The invention also relates to a rail vehicle, a use of the counting system and a method.
