[origin: WO2021008917A1] The invention relates to a printer for printing unused histology laboratory consumable articles. The printer according to the invention is characterized by an optical reader which reads an image pattern from a histology laboratory consumable article to be printed, generates analog or digital image signals with respect to the read image pattern, and transfers the image signals to a control device of the printer, which control device evaluates the received image signals and, depending on the evaluation result, determines at least one processing step for the further processing of the histology laboratory consumable article with respect to the quality of the imprint to be printed.
