Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2021019165A1] The invention relates to a system (2) for analysing radioactive waste packages (4) comprising a neutron source (6), the analysis system (2) comprising: - at least one detection device (10) configured to detect fast neutrons and/or thermal neutrons, and to output a detection signal comprising pulses each representative of the detection of a corresponding neutron; - a computer (12) configured to: • identify, in each detection signal, the pulses corresponding to thermal and/or fast neutrons; • calculate, for each detection device (10), a first number of coincidences, depending on the number of real coincidences of fast fission neutrons detected, and/or a second number of coincidences, depending on the number of real coincidences of thermal fission neutrons detected; • determine a position of the source (6) from the first number of coincidences and the second number of coincidences calculated.
