The method comprises an ablation step in which the body is subjected to ablation of material by scanning, over at least one surface of the body, ultra-short pulsed laser radiation, the pulse duration of which is less than a hundred picoseconds, and the beam of which is guided by a precession system with at least three axes configured to at least partially cancel out the conical angle of focus of the laser, the laser ablation step comprising the hollowing out of a cone (12) at the entrance of the hole (8). The invention also concerns a monocrystalline mineral stone, in particular for a timepiece, the stone comprising a surface (6) provided with a hole (8) formed in the body of the stone (10) and a functional element at the entrance of the hole (10). The functional element is in the shape of a cone (12).
