[origin: WO2021014016A1] The present invention relates to a monitoring device (2) for a battery bank (1), which monitoring device is equipped with electronics components, e.g. a battery management system (BM), current-measuring shunt, and electromechanical components, e.g. in the form of contactors, fuses (Si), busbars (S), plug connectors, and is accommodated in a closed housing (4). In order to produce a monitoring device in which a predefined service life can be reliably achieved without oversizing components, according to the invention the closed housing (5) is designed to provide free and/or forced convection, wherein the convection can equalise temperature differences inside the housing (5) and across the monitoring device (2).
