[origin: WO2021023887A1] The present invention relates to a sensor for a body monitoring system, comprising at least one micro-needle for measuring an on-body analyte, characterised in that the micro-needle comprises a base shank and a top peak which is arranged on the base shank, the micro-needle exhibiting a break in slope between the base shank and the top peak, the sensor also comprising an active detection portion which covers at least one portion of the surface of the top peak, the top peak extending exclusively at a distance between 350 μm and 1100 μm from the base of the base shank, in particular exclusively at a distance between 600 μm and 1000 μm from the base of the base shank, and in that the surface of the active portion is between 0.04 mm2 et 0.9 mm2.
