[origin: WO2021028136A1] The invention relates to an automatic air coupling for a rail vehicle, in particular in the form of a goods wagon, having a mouth piece for the coupling of the air coupling to a mating air coupling; having a compressed-air connector for the connection of the air coupling to a rail vehicle compressed-air system; having a flow channel which connects the mouth piece in compressed-air-conducting fashion to the compressed-air connector; having a valve which is arranged in the flow channel and which has a valve body and a valve seat, wherein the valve body is movable between an open position, in which it at least substantially or completely opens up the flow channel, and a closed position, in which it shuts off the flow channel in pressure-tight fashion; having a valve drive which acts at least indirectly on the valve body in order to actuate the latter from the open position into the closed position and/or from the closed position into the open position; wherein the valve drive comprises a shaft which is rotatable about an axis of rotation and which is designed for connection to a rail vehicle coupling closure for conjoint rotation or which is formed by a rail vehicle coupling closure and which is equipped with at least one cam which acts at least indirectly on the valve body for the purposes of actuating the latter.
