[origin: WO2021028124A1] The invention relates to an illumination device (1) for a motor vehicle headlight, comprising: - an illumination means (2); - a primary optics element (3), which has a primary light admission surface (3a) for receiving light emitted by the illumination means (2), the light being guided to a primary light emission surface (3b) and being emitted in a main emission direction (4); - a secondary optics element (5), with a secondary light admission surface (5a), the light of the illumination means (2) being emitted from the primary light emission surface (3b) via the secondary light admission surface (5a) to the secondary optics element (5) and within the secondary optics element (5) being guided to a secondary light emission surface (5b), the secondary light admission surface (5a) being formed by a plurality of optical elements (6) which are arranged two-dimensionally adjacent to one another and are configured to refract the light beams on admission into the second optics element (5) in such a way that the light beams, after the refraction thereof on emission from the secondary light emission surface (5b), are oriented in the direction of the main emission direction (4).
