[origin: EP4019695A1] This wire rope is provided with a plurality of strands that are twisted with each other, and the plurality of strands each have a configuration in which a plurality of element wires are twisted with each other. The wire rope is further provided with a single wire that is disposed in a recess section formed on the outer peripheral side of the wire rope by two strands that are adjacent to each other along the peripheral direction of the wire rope. In a transverse cross-section of the wire rope, a portion of the single wire is positioned inside a virtual circumscribed circle of one of the two strands.
