[origin: WO2021037052A1] A control apparatus and a control method are provided. The control apparatus (001) includes a first sensing device (200), an optical device (300), and a second sensing device (400), each communicatively connected with a controller (100). The first sensing device (200) detects whether a user (U) is in a proximity of a target object (T), and if so, sends object detection data to the controller (100), which further determines whether the user (U) is within a preset distance to the target object (T), and if so, controls the optical device (300) to project a preset image. The second sensing device (400) then detects a response of the user to the preset image, and sends user response data to the controller (100). The controller (100) further determines whether the response from the user meets a predetermined criterion, and if so, controls the target object (T) for executing a task. The control apparatus can be utilized for realizing a hands-free opening of a vehicle gate.
