[origin: US2022203703A1] A direct thermal printer prints on direct thermal printing paper, which has a thermo-reactive layer that can form two colors. A first color is formed at a first temperature, and a second at a second temperature, higher than the first. A printhead of the printer has heat sources arranged transversely to a paper path. Image data of an original image having at least the first color and the second color may be received. Control data may be created for the direct thermal printer for two-color printing of a print image. The control data has a plurality of print lines, and causes, for each print line for each heat source, either heating of the heat source to a printing temperature or no heating of the respectively heat source.

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Erstellung von Steuerdaten zum Betrieb eines Thermodirekt-Druckers zum Bedrucken von Thermodirektdruck-Papier, wobei beim Druck in dem Thermodirektdruck-Papier mehrere Farben ausgebildet werden.
