[origin: WO2021047885A1] The invention relates to an automation field device having: - a metal housing (1) having a housing opening (2); - an electronic unit (3) which is arranged in a housing interior (Gl) and has at least one printed circuit board (4; 13); - a cable connection (5) arranged in the housing opening (2) and leading into the housing interior (Gl) and having a plastic portion (KA), a cable having another plastic portion (KA2) being able to be connected to said cable connection (5), - an antenna (6) which is arranged on a first printed circuit board (4) of the electronic unit (3), - the antenna (6) being designed to transmit and receive electromagnetic waves (EW) of at least one predefined wavelength, - the antenna (6) being configured such that is it designed to transmit electromagnetic waves (EW) towards the housing opening (2) and to receive electromagnetic waves (EW) to be received from the direction of the housing opening (2), - and the plastic portions (KA,KA2) being permeable to the electromagnetic waves (EW) such that electromagnetic waves (EW) transmitted by the antenna (6) can be transmitted out of the housing interior (GI) via the plastic portions (KA,KA2) and electromagnetic waves (EW) to be received by the antenna (6) can be transmitted into the housing interior (GI) via the plastic portions (KA, KA2).
