[origin: CA3155444A1] A seal arrangement (1) for a filter, in particular a compressed air filter, in particular as part of a system having multiple filter stages, for fluid-tight sealing between a filter element (2), in particular a filter cartridge, and a filter head (3) comprises an annular elastic seal (4), a filter head sealing face (5) and a filter element sealing face (6). The seal (4) has a filter head side oriented toward the filter head sealing face (5), an opposite filter element side oriented toward the filter element sealing face (6), an inner face running circumferentially on the inner side, and an opposite outer face running circumferentially on the lateral side. The filter head side has a circumferential first recess between the inner face and the outer face, wherein the filter element side has a circumferential second recess between the inner face and the outer face. The seal arrangement (1) is configured in such a way that the seal (4), when subjected to a pressure originating from the inner face and/or from the outer face, is wedged in the direction of the acting force, between part faces of the sealing faces (5, 6) that narrow toward the middle. Also described is a filter element (2) as part of such a seal arrangement (1) for a filter.
