Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2021058355A1] The present invention relates to a casing unit for an adjustable steering column for a motor vehicle, comprising an inner casing pipe (4), which extends axially in the direction of a longitudinal axis and comprises a clamping portion (41) having a non-round outer cross section and, in an end region, comprises at least one bearing portion (42) having a circular cylindrical inner cross section, and an outer ring (71) of a rolling bearing is received in the bearing portion (42), which outer ring has rolling bodies (76) which can roll between a track of the outer ring (71) and a track of an inner ring (74), wherein a steering shaft (31) can be received in in the inner ring (74). In order to enable a construction having high stiffness which is simple to produce, reliable and compact, according to the invention the rolling bodies (76) are arranged axially offset relative to the bearing portion (42). Furthermore, the invention relates to a steering column having such a casing unit and to a method for producing such a casing unit.
