[origin: WO2021058625A1] The invention relates to a device for handling value documents, comprising a value document dispensing unit (16) with a dispensing compartment (72) for dispensing value documents (28, 48, 50) and with a first closure element (60) which in a closed position delimits the dispensing compartment (72) on one side. The first closure element (60) is movable from the closed position into an open position to open the dispensing compartment (72), and is movable from the open position into the closed position to close the dispensing compartment (72). The device comprises at least one second closure element (260), which is movable from an open position into a closed position and from the closed position into the open position. The second closure element (260) is arranged in such a way that access to value documents (28, 48, 50) provided in the dispensing compartment (72) is only possible if both the first closure element (60) and the second closure element (260) are in their open positions.
