Abstract (en)

A dishwasher system for cleaning dishes may include at least one rack (122, 124) configured to receive a silverware basket (200), the basket (200) including a plurality of partitions (210) creating a plurality of cavities within the basket (150) for receiving utensils for washing, where each cavity includes a separate and distinct base (214) at a bottom of the basket (200) that is vertically movable within the cavity, a camshaft (222) fixed to the rack and operable by a gearbox (230) configured to rotate the camshaft (222) with respect to the rack (122, 124), the camshaft (122) arranged below the silverware basket (200), and a plurality of cams (220) extending along the camshaft (222), at least one cam (220) being arranged below each cavity, wherein upon rotation of the camshaft (222) by the gearbox (230), each cam (220) affects the height of the respective base (214) to allow the utensils in the respective cavity to be intermittently lifted and exposed to spray from sprayers within the dishwasher.
