An operating assembly for edgebanding machines to edgeband panels (2) made of wood or the like is provided with at least one cutting tool to process at least one panel (2) and/or a finishing edge (7) mounted on a lateral face (5) of the panel (2), with a copy attachment (18) designed, in use, to come into contact with the finishing edge (7), with a first pushing device (24), which is pre-loaded so as to exert, upon the copy attachment (18), a force other than zero when the copy attachment (18) is disengaged from the panel (2), and with a second pushing device (30), which is configured so as to exert, upon the copy attachment (18), a zero force when the copy attachment (18) is disengaged from the panel (2) and a force other than zero when the copy attachment (18) is engaged on the panel (2).
