[origin: CA3153828A1] The invention relates to a device for comminuting pourable feedstock and a method for opening such an apparatus. The apparatus has a housing (3) which encloses a comminution chamber (40) and in which a rotor (7) rotating about a rotation axis (6) is arranged, which rotor has rotor tools (10) over the circumference thereof. A sieve holder (2), the sieve (14) of which extends along a circumferential portion of the rotor (7), is used to separate the sufficiently comminuted material. The feedstock supplied to the rotor (7) via a material infeed (13) is removed from the apparatus via a material discharge after sufficient comminution. In order to improve accessibility to the interior of the apparatus, according to the invention the sieve holder (2), in order to open the housing (3), is pivotable about a first pivot axis (25) from a closed first position to an open second position and in addition about a second pivot axis (26) to an open third position.
