[origin: WO2021073818A1] The invention relates to a device for driving mechanical safety systems. The device contains a housing (1) in which at least one moving piston (3) is arranged. The piston is connected to a first toothed rack (4) and the first toothed rack (4) is operatively connected to a pinion (8). A second toothed rack (9) is further arranged for movement in the housing (1), which rack is likewise operatively connected to the pinion (8). The second toothed rack is thereby displaced in the opposite direction to the movement of the piston. According to the invention, the device has a locking lever (12) and a shift dog (10). The shift dog (10) is mounted on the second toothed rack (9) and is arranged such that, on movement of the second toothed rack (9), the shift dog (10) can actuate the locking lever (12). A locking bush is proposed for securing the securing shaft to be driven. Said locking bush is initially transferred to an unlocked position on movement of the toothed racks (4, 9) and is returned to a locked position on conclusion of the movement. This is achieved by means of a control cam (5) which is arranged on the first toothed rack (4).
