[origin: WO2021190691A1] The present invention relates to a torch (1) which can be produced at low cost and can be operated with one hand and with comfort irrespective of the gripping position, comprising a torch head (2) which has a lighting unit (18), comprising a housing (3) which is designed as a gripping piece, extends along a longitudinal axis (L) and has a closed end section (4) at the rear, and comprising a linear-travel switch with a slide (5) for operating the torch (1), wherein the slide (5) is mounted in a slidable and captive manner on the housing (3), wherein the slide (5) is formed in an L-shape with a first section (6) and a second section (9), and wherein the first section (6) extends in a longitudinally axial manner along the housing (3) and the second section (9) engages behind (or catches behind) the closed end section (4) of the housing (3), so that the linear-travel switch can be operated in different gripping positions.
