[origin: WO2021052608A1] The invention relates to a retention device for immobilizing a pipe in a building element, for example a floor, wall or ceiling. The retention device has a grid shape comprising at least two sets of beams, beams of a first set extending parallelly in a first direction and beams of the second set extending parallelly in another direction, wherein at least some beams are provided with recesses for receiving and retaining at least part of a pipe. A preferred embodiment comprises a method for using the retention device.
