Die Erfindung betrifft einen ballistischer Block (10) insbesondere für eine beschusshemmende Verglasung (100) oder als beschusshemmende Verglasung (100), wobei der ballistische Block (10) mindestens zwei transparente Scheiben (11, 12, 13, 14) aufweist, die über eine Zwischenlage (19) miteinander verbunden sind, wobei der ballistische Block (10) ohne eine energie-absorbierende Lage oder Folie aus Polycarbonat ausgeführt ist, und wobei die mindestens zwei transparenten Scheiben (11, 12, 13, 14) und insbesondere alle transparenten Scheiben (11, 12, 13, 14) des ballistischen Blocks (10) jeweils Scheiben aus vorgespanntem Glas sind.
