Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2021089539A1] The invention relates to a method and a device for assisting in landing an aircraft under poor visibility conditions. The method makes it possible to receive sensor data during an approach phase toward a runway where the runway and/or an approach ramp are not visible to the pilot from the cockpit; then to determine, in the received sensor data, data of interest that are characteristic of the runway and/or of the approach ramp; then to calculate, on the basis of the data of interest, the coordinates of a target zone; and to display, on a head-up display screen, a conformal symbol representative of the target zone, the conformal symbol being displayed before the aircraft reaches the decision height in order to provide the pilot with a visual cue within which to search for the runway and/or the approach ramp.
