[origin: WO2021099310A2] The invention relates to a container closure (11) made of plastic for closing a container, with a screw cap (13) that has a cylindrical casing (15) having an internal screw thread (19) and a lid disc (17) adjoining the casing (15), and with a security ring (25) that is connected by means of first break-off webs (27) to the free edge (29) of the casing (15) and has an engagement means (35) designed for a form-fitting engagement into an abutment arranged in the region of the container neck (23), said abutment being in the form of a holding ring. The security ring (25) has slots (31) that are arranged distributed over the circumference and have a top edge (33) and a bottom edge (35), wherein the top edge (33) is formed by a section of the security ring (25) that extends in the shape of a circular arc. The bottom edge (35) is formed by a wall section (37) that is inclined inwards in the radial direction. The bottom edge (35) of each slot (31) forms the engagement means for a form-fitting engagement into an abutment arranged in the region of the container neck (23).
