[origin: WO2021099412A1] The invention relates to a method for transmitting data to a control device (e.g. controller, automation device), in particular for building automation, wherein the control device is connected to a tool (e.e. engineering tool; PC) by a communications network, wherein a wireless service interface (e.g. WiFi interface) of the control device is activated via a signal generated by the tool and sent to the control device in order to transmit (send and receive) data. The communications network can be e.g. a field bus (e.g. KNX bus) or a backbone network (in particular a non-IP network).
