Appareil de commutation électrique (2), comportant un boîtier (4) et une chambre de coupure (12) logée dans le boîtier, la chambre de coupure comportant un empilement de plaques métalliques (14), l'appareil de commutation comportant en outre une pièce de séparation (20) placée en sortie de la chambre de coupure, la pièce de séparation étant disposée au contact de l'empilement de plaques métalliques, perpendiculairement aux plaques métalliques, en étant au moins partiellement insérée dans la grille et/ou entre les plaques métalliques de l'empilement, de manière à séparer le flux de gaz sortant de la chambre de coupure.
