[origin: WO2021105237A1] The invention comprises a wear-resistant element (16) for partial insertion into a recess (26) in the surface of a wear face (12) of a comminuting apparatus, the wear-resistant element (16) having a fastening region (24), which can be connected to the recess (26) in the surface of the wear face (12), and having a wear region (22), which projects at least some way out of the surface of the wear face (12), wherein the fastening region (24) is formed from a metal, wherein the wear region (22) has a lateral surface (18) and a core (20), which is arranged within the lateral surface (18), wherein the core (20) is formed from a metal and the lateral surface (18) is formed from a ceramic substance (20), and wherein the material of the lateral surface comprises a ceramic substance which contains yttrium-stabilized tetragonal polycrystalline zirconia (TPZ), the TPZ containing a proportion by volume of at least 60%, preferably at least 80%, in particular 95% to 100%, of the ceramic substance.
